POSITIONS
IT System Support – Systems Analyst / 2nd Line Support
IT System Support – IT Technician / Helpdesk
The Challenge
Armco IT Consulting Ltd is a well established IT systems and cloud services provider. We are currently recruiting talented, self-motivated and experienced individuals for IT Support roles to join the business based in Malton, North Yorkshire. We offer IT consultancy, system support, IT project design and delivery as well as expert IT advice for small/ medium-sized businesses throughout Yorkshire.
THE ROLES
1. Systems Analyst.
Reporting directly to the Senior Systems Analyst, you will work closely with a growing team of IT professionals. Your primary role will be to provide advanced-level IT support and have the initiative to run IT projects from start to finish.
Problem solving, managing complex IT systems, managing system-related projects and providing higher-level IT assistance within the team are all essential aspects of the role. A keen understanding of business systems and the ability to troubleshoot is vital.
Advanced-level IT support – providing the rest of the team and customers with advanced-level IT support and assistance where required.
Project management – overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, control and closure of projects.
If you have achieved an industry recognised qualification in an IT-related subject (ie MCSA), Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering equivalent and have knowledge of off all or most of the following, we would like to hear from you:
- At least five years’ experience in an IT or computer related environment
- Internet technologies and cloud computing
- Network infrastructures, switching, routing and TCP/IP protocol
- MS Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Server applications: Exchange and SQL
- Virtualised environments: Hyper-V, vSphere
- MS Office 365 and MS Office suite
- Familiar with industry-standard backup and recovery technology
- Installing and maintaining computer hardware and software and data networks
- Mac/Linux an advantage
- Advanced interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Team-oriented attitude and customer-oriented behaviour
- Self-motivated working style
- Flexible, lateral thinking and adaptability to change
- English language spoken/written mandatory
- Current valid UK driving licence
2. IT Technician.
Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, you will work closely with a growing team of IT professionals. Your primary role will be to provide 1st line remote helpdesk assistance as well as on-site support. You must have the initiative to think and resolve issues quickly.
Problem solving, telephone and remote support, on-site support and working within a team are all essential aspects of the role. A keen understanding of business systems and the ability to troubleshoot is vital. This is a role for someone keen to learn and develop.
IT support – assist the rest of the team and provide customers with 1st line remote IT support and assistance where required. On-site provision of services and support when deemed more appropriate.
Service delivery – exceptional customer-facing outlook married with the capacity to build a rappour with clients and service providers alike.
If you are time-served in an IT Helpdesk or support environment, are working towards an IT-related qualification, have the ambition to learn, or have an analytical qualification and have knowledge of off all or most of the following, we would like to hear from you:

You should be a good communicator, have good documentation skills and a practical approach.
